Supervisory Control Analyst – E.A (London location – High English level)

We are looking for a Supervisory Control Analyst – E.A for our Investment Industry Comunytek team! We are thinking about someone with initiative and a desire to grow personally and professionally to join our teams in a first project in the Bank sector in London (3 days a week on site).

Requirements:


This role is within Supervisory Controls Team, and will:



  • Deliver and maintain the Supervisory Controls Framework,

  • Oversee supporting 1st Line Of Defence procedures, processes and controls functions as designed to protect the bank.


Key Accountabilities:



  • Risk Management

  • Assist in the data aggregation, and analysis to support the monthly Supervisory Controls reporting cycle.

  • Use knowledge of the business and relevant data sources to ensure the correct controls are regularly performed to maintain a good level of reporting and escalation as appropriate.

  • Produce management reporting (e.g., metrics, dashboards) to improve visibility and facilitate escalation to obligation owners, desks, and senior managers, and discuss key issues at the relevant local and global forums / meetings.

  • Implement enhancements to existing controls. Monitor and track escalations to resolution across the business

  • Liaise with Global 1LOD teams, local compliance (2LOD), and Internal Audit to highlight key issues, potential improvements, and continuous enhancements across each control model.

  • Maintain frameworks and conduct QA reviews across each control framework on an annual basis, and ensure testing results are appropriately documented and communicated

  • Assist with the tracking and administration of plans and projects underway within the team, and where the team provide input, for example: Compliance monitoring actions, Internal Audit actions, and the Control Framework plan.


People Management



  • Establish good working relationship with local, and global teams including across 1LOD, Compliance 2LOD, business, IT, Risk, Finance, Treasury, and other support units.

  • Support the Head of Supervisory Control team and SLB Head of RAC to raise material issues risks to the relevant committees


Customer Orientation



  • Ensure the control frameworks monitor critical issues / themes to maintain a good level of compliance.

  • Ensure that everything we do is personal, simple, and fair for both our internal and external customers.

  • Ensure clear, concise, actionable, and practical observations and recommendations are provided, with a well-documented process for communication and clearance of identified deficiencies


Commercial



  • Manage risks identified by the control frameworks to prevent fines or penalties by the local / global regulators

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and be able to work effectively with the different key stakeholders


Essential



  • Good understanding of the regulatory landscape especially thematic reviews / critical topics raised by the FCA and PRA

  • Ability to translate, manipulate and analyse data to perform root cause, trends and undertake impact analysis

  • Experience of a corporate and investment bank, ideally within a 3rd Country Branch

  • Ability to build relationships with sales / trading personnel and senior management

  • Experience of data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Good written, oral communication skills, networking, and presentation skills

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in Banking and Financial Markets

  • Ability to understand the practicalities of data ingestion and be able to sanitise and manipulate large and complex data sets from multiple sources.

  • Ability to identify and articulate complex issues to a diverse group of stakeholders, propose mitigants/solutions and escalate appropriately

  • Ability to craft and generate effective and influential presentations, of dashboard metrics, reporting to a diverse group of stakeholders

  • Strong time and project management / organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment; communicate factually and influentially

  • Ability to build remote cross border relationships within the branch and the wider Global team
